Srila Prabhupada’s Nuclear War Prediction Proves Correct.

Srila Prabhupada's Nuclear War Prediction has proven to be 100% correct. His Divine Grace said after a lapse of 50 years [1956-2006] blind materialism would be annihilated.

"After a lapse of fifty years"

By the grace of the illusory energy of Godhead we are now engaged more and more in the dangerous type of work in this machine-age. The machine-age is the result of dangerous type of work. When we leave aside the culture of spiritualism, we are entangled in the dangerous type of work. Nobody can live for a moment without work and therefore when finer elements are made to stop working, gross materialism occupies the devil's brain. The result is that we have now come to the age of nuclear weapons for the destruction of material civilization. By the law of nature, the nuclear weapons have been produced for crushing the result of blind-materialism.
The peace move of different powers of the world, by the false gesture of suspending the experiments of dangerous weapons--may be very much pleasing to the comparatively weak nations--but these temporary peace-moves will prove useless by the law of material nature. When the dangerous weapons are produced, they must be utilised for annihilation of blind materialism by the plan of the Daivi Maya or the external energy of Godhead. The problem can be solved when they are taught about their spiritual identity.
The soul-killing civilization is progressively taking to the dangerous type of work by invention of huge mechanical means. The illusory energy is creating this atmosphere for blind materialism and on the other hand she is arranging for their destruction also. Such opposite methods are called illusory energy. The human energy is thus misused for breaking the same thing which is produced by the same energy. It is something like blazing the fire and extinguish it by pouring water simultaneously--a sign of insanity or spoiling the valuable human energy meant for spiritual culture. History has been repeated so many times and many many leaders of materialism like Napoleon, Hitler and others now remain in name only without any sign of the material progress planned by them. De-Stalinisation has already begun in Russia. Nobody is enjoying the result of civilization created by atheists like Ravana, Kansa, Aurangzeb, Napoleon or Hitler. Everything is in oblivion and this teaches us the lesson that the materialistic plans of the present age will also meet with the same fate after a lapse of 50 years. Therefore blind materialism does not bring in any permanent relief in the world. The mode of spiritual plan is explained very clearly in the II Chapter of the Bhagwat Geeta. This plan is called 'Buddhiyoga' which has neither any destruction nor any lapse. Even a slight progress in the line of 'Buddhiyoga' can save the performer from many many dangerous types of work.
In order to save the people from blind materialism they have to be trained up in the art of 'Buddhiyoga' or the transcendental loving service of the Personality of Godhead. 'Buddhiyoga' is another name of 'Bhaktiyoga' or devotional activities.

Even though nuclear war has threatened to destroy this godless civilization many times it has not happened during this 50 year period because the Lord has not allowed the words of Prabhupada to be violated. This can be understood by looking at the following quote.

By simply advising the King of heaven, Indra, to send a strong wind, so many asuras can be immediately annihilated. So for that purpose, Krsna does not require to come. He comes for satisfying the devotees. The devotees are so anxious to see Him. Just like Prahlada Maharaja. Nrsimhadeva appeared not to kill his teeny father. To kill his teeny father... Simply by directing the maya, he could be killed. But He wanted to come before Prahlada Maharaja, that "You are My such nice devotee. You are suffering for Me. Now I have come. You see." This is the purpose. By the by, to kill the atheist, keeping the promise of Brahma intact... He took benediction from Brahma that "I shall not die in this way and this way, this way." All the promises of Brahma kept. He appeared in such a form that it will not clash with the promise of Brahma. Therefore He had to take the form of such a thing which does not clash with the promise. Brahma was a devotee. He has given him some benediction. So Krsna did not violate that. It must be kept. Kaunteya pratijanihi na me bhaktah pranasyati. Just see (the) kindness of Krsna. He kept Brahma's promise, He kept the atheist Hiranyakasipu's aspiration, and He satisfied Prahlada And everything was done simply by incarnating as Narasimhadeva. This is Krsna's plan. He comes, but by one stroke, He serves so many business. That is Krsna. [Srila Prabhupada from a Srimad-Bhagavatam Lecture 1.3.22, Los Angeles, September 27, 1972]

Now that the 50 years are up the protection that Prabhupada's words gave are over and the full import of them, will soon be realized.

As Hiranyakasipu was killed in a second, the
godless civilization can be destroyed at any moment.

TRANSLATION: The Supreme Personality of Godhead, who had many, many arms, first uprooted Hiranyakasipu's heart and then threw him aside and turned toward the demon's soldiers. These soldiers had come in thousands to fight with Him with raised weapons and were very faithful followers of Hiranyakasipu, but Lord Nrsimhadeva killed all of them merely with the ends of His nails.

PURPORT: Since the creation of the material world, there have been two kinds of men--the devas and the asuras. The devas are always faithful to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whereas the asuras are always atheists who defy the supremacy of the Lord. At the present moment, throughout the entire world, the atheists are extremely numerous. They are trying to prove that there is no God and that everything takes place due to combinations and permutations of material elements. Thus the material world is becoming more and more godless, and consequently everything is in a disturbed condition. If this continues, the Supreme personality of Godhead will certainly take action, as He did in the case of Hiranyakasipu. Within a second, Hiranyakasipu and his followers were destroyed, and similarly if this godless civilization continues, it will be destroyed in a second, simply by the movement of one finger of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The demons should therefore be careful and curtail their godless civilization. They should take advantage of the Krsna consciousness movement and become faithful to the Supreme Personality of Godhead; otherwise they are doomed. As Hiranyakasipu was killed in a second, the godless civilization can be destroyed at any moment.

There is a very interesting parallel that we can see by looking at texts 26 and 27 from this eighth chapter of the seventh canto of Srimad Bhagavatam, where Lord Nrsimhadeva plays with Hiranyakasipu before killing him.

TRANSLATION: O Yudhisthira, O great son of Bharata, when Lord Nrsimhadeva gave Hiranyakasipu a chance to slip from His hand, just as Garuda sometimes plays with a snake and lets it slip from his mouth, the demigods, who had lost their abodes and who were hiding behind the clouds for fear of the demon, did not consider that incident very good. Indeed, they were perturbed.

PURPORT: When Hiranyakasipu was in the process of being killed by Lord Nrsimhadeva, the Lord gave the demon a chance to slip from His clutches. This incident was not very much appreciated by the demigods, for they were greatly afraid of Hiranyakasipu. They knew that if somehow or other Hiranyakasipu escaped from Nrsimhadeva's hands and saw that the demigods were looking forward to his death with great pleasure, he would take great revenge upon them. Therefore they were very much afraid.

TRANSLATION: When Hiranyakasipu was freed from the hands of Nrsimhadeva, he falsely thought that the Lord was afraid of his prowess. Therefore, after taking a little rest from the fight, he took up his sword and shield and again attacked the Lord with great force.

PURPORT: When a sinful man enjoys material facilities, foolish people sometimes think, "How is it that this sinful man is enjoying whereas a pious man is suffering?" By the will of the Supreme, a sinful man is sometimes given the chance to enjoy the material world as if he were not under the clutches of material nature, just so that he may be fooled. A sinful man who acts against the laws of nature must be punished, but sometimes he is given a chance to play, exactly like Hiranyakasipu when he was released from the hands of Nrsimhadeva. Hiranyakasipu was destined to be ultimately killed by Nrsimhadeva, but just to see the fun, the Lord gave him a chance to slip from His hands.

Because this godless civilization has not taken Prabhupada's spirtual message seriously it is destined to be ultimately killed by the Daivi Maya or the external energy of Godhead. By the law of nature, the nuclear weapons have been produced for crushing the result of blind-materialism.

Prabhupada's 50 year benediction has given time for the roots of the Krishna Movement to be planted all over the world. The foundations [Prabhupada's spiritual law books] are now in place to build the Spiritual World Order. In this 50 year period the demons were allowed to play like Hiranyakasipu. Now at any moment this play will be over and all the demons will be destroyed in a second.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada who has appeared like Prahlada in this Hiranyakasipu civilization and like Prahlada has converted many of Hiranyakasipu's followers to Krishna Conciousness. Who like Prahlada was attemped to be killed by the the modern day Hiranyakasipu's but was protected by the Lord at every step. And like Prahlada will be merciful to the Hiranyakasipu's of this age after the Lord destroys their demoniac civilization.
