A Reverse Speech Investigation of the Death of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada


The Speech Reversals of Bhakti Caru


    There are far fewer reversals of Bhakti Caru than of Tamal Krishna in the material analyzed. This is simply due to the fact that Bhakti Caru spoke less than Tamal Krishna, and that most of Bhakti Caru’s speaking was in Hindi or Bengali in his role as a translator. It is likely that there are many speech reversals in those languages, which I can not understand since I don't speak Hindi or Bengali. Undoubtedly a person speaking those languages and trained in Reverse Speech would likely find many speech reversals. Nonetheless, there are a sufficient number of clear reversals in English to show motive, guilt, shame and confession. Amazingly many English speech reversals are heard on Bhakti Caru's Hindi and Bengali forward speech, as we will also hear from the Kaviraj.

    Bhakti Caru speaks and translates both Hindi and Bengali throughout the tapes analyzed, but as I cannot distinguish between the two I simply note the forward speech as [Hindi] in these places. The listener who understands Bengali may find the forward speech to be Bengali, not Hindi. I apologize for any confusion.


Bhakti Caru's Remorse

Bhakti Caru: I said I feel rotten    T36 Side A Counter 067-123
[Hindi]

This reversal, occurring on forward Hindi speech, indicates Bhakti Caru's feelings. Why does he feel rotten? As we shall soon read and hear, it is because he is poisoning his spiritual master.
Bhakti Caru: I’m ashamed, not see me     T37 Side A Counter 103-145
"As a physician, [in this condition], I wouldn't advise you to go. But if you desire to go"
Here Bhakti Caru is translating the Kavi’s instructions to Tamal Krishna and others. This reversal speaks of his shame, and "not see me" indicates that in his shame he wants to hide himself from others. Why is he ashamed? The reversals below will show that.
Bhakti Caru: Lord we be sad     T37 Side A Counter 103-145
"As a physician, in this condition, I wouldn't ad[vise you to go]. But if you desire to go"
Note from the forward speech that this reversal follows on the heals of the last one, in the next phrase. An expression of remorse which shows Bhakti Caru’s equivocal emotions.
Bhakti Caru: Must not take place     T37 Side A Counter 103-145
"I can take you over there [safely. Now it's up] to you whether you want to go or whether"
This reversal, occuring in a discussion about Prabhupada's going to Mayapura, indicates Bhakti Caru's intention that Prabhupada NOT go. Here he is translating for the doctor who says that "I can take you over there safely."  Although Bhakti Caru, Tamal and others all politely agree that Prabhupada should be allowed to travel, they appeal that he should just gain some strength first. Just as Tamal's hidden intention about keeping Prabhupada in Vrindavana was revealed in his speech reversals, this reversal similarly reveals Bhakti Caru's intention that Srila Prabhupada not go.
Bhakti Caru: Should mean funny marks for giving it T37 Side A Counter 103-145
"if you stay here for ten more days, [then you'll become strong enough and you can tr]avel."
Reverse Speech has two metaphors which refer to "strikes" against oneself. These two are nick and mark. Something which brings a nick is a slight offense, not too serious. A mark however is a grievous offense for which one must pay restitution. This is a comparative metaphor of self-talk which indicates that Bhakti Caru will be receiving "funny" marks, or will have to pay, either for giving the poison, or for giving this advice which is deceptive. In the previous reversal we see Bhakti Caru's intention of not letting Prabhupada go out of Vrindavana, and in the forward speech in this, the following sentence, he gives his false arguement that Prabhupada should just wait ten days more to gain strength. This advice is deceptive and ill-motivated given this speech reversal.
Bhakti Caru: I been really corrupt     T37 Side A Counter 145-187
[Hindi]
Self-talk which is quite self-explanatory. This is why he feels rotten, ashamed and sad. Someone else speaks one syllable while the reversed word "really" is being said, but listening closely one can distinguish the word.
Bhakti Caru: An omen     T37 Side A Counter 232-275
"He's saying that the main thing... He found out the main defect [in the body."]
This reversal is self-talk wherein Bhakti Caru is being warned that the Kavi might be on to them (i.e., found out the main defect -- the poison). If he did find out the main defect in the body this would be an omen to consider. The Kaviraj's speech reversals indicate that he did determine that Prabhupada was being poisoned and that he was subsequently threatened or bribed or both to go along with the charade of being unable to heal Prabhupada as he slipped toward his death.
Bhakti Caru: The purpose     T39 Side A Counter 525-552
["Srila Prabhupada"]
Another example of a speech reversal on Srila Prabhupada’s name. The reversal is a reflection of the consciousness of the speaker. Please compare to Tamal Krishna's speech reversals on the words "Srila Prabhupada."
Bhakti Caru: I love you    T47B101   Counter 343-458
[Srila Prabhupada]
Another reversal on the words "Srila Prabhupada" with entirely different content proves once again that Reverse Speech is not simply coincidental sounds. It is interesting to see such emotions at the same time as other malevolent ones. Clearly there are many mixed emotions.
Bhakti Caru: Weak we’ll be glad to see him     T39 Side B Counter 001-066
"barley was a little thick, little too much of it, so that the [density was little thick"]
Bhakti Caru will be glad to see Srila Prabhupada weak. As a reversal on the discussion of the barley milk, it would indicate Srila Prabhupada’s weakness has some connection with the barley milk.
Bhakti Caru: The clue’s in the mercury     T39 Side B Counter 001-066
"they give him glucose, [intravenous glucose], and that gives immediate energy."
This reversal was shown in the first section "Indications of Poisoning" and is included here again as a part of Bhakti Caru’s reversals. The same comments apply.
Bhakti Caru: In the mouth it bleeds     T39 Side B Counter 001-066
"whatever strength is acquired in the body, that [stays there. It's permanent."]
This reversal follows less than 16 seconds after the one above and refers to it. It is the mercury that "bleeds," or gradually seeps into the body from the mouth, or through the mouth. One of the symptoms of mercury poisoning is inflamation of the gums. This speech reversal accurately reflects that, and confirms the previous reversal of mercury poisoning. Whether Prabhupada actually displayed the symptoms of bleeding gums might depend upon the amount that was given to him as mouth sores are only observed after mercury is ingested for a long time.
Bhakti Caru: March to, from, the sea T39 Side B Counter 066-114
"give medicines like makara-dhvaja [which will make you strong."]
Bodies of water represent the emotions in the language of Reverse Speech, as in a "sea of emotion." Marching to and from the sea would thus indicate the experience of going back and forth in emotions or wide-ranging emotions, equivocal feelings, determination vs. doubt, and so on.
Bhakti Caru: Not bring it; not bring the sin in medicine     T39 Side B Counter 114-212
["This same medicine will continue till] Kaviraj comes back and gives new medicine."
Self-talk admonishing him twice not to poison or "bring the sin in" the medicine. Note how many of Bhakti Caru’s reversals are admonishments to stop the poisoning. Unfortunately he doesn't heed his inner direction.
Bhakti Caru: I kill, this brings some benefit     T39 Side B Counter 114-212
gives new medicine. They are all  [the same medicine, Srila Prabhupada.]
This is Bhakti Caru's confession and motive. There is some benefit that he has been promised or will realize. This is confirmed  in the next speech reversal.
Bhakti Caru: That’s sure wicked; make me-a-rich     T39 Side A Counter 634-670
[Hindi]
This is another statement by Bhakti Caru, which indicates that the wicked act would make him rich. These reversals indicate that he received money or some type of remuneration for his part in the poisoning.
Bhakti Caru: And we get when we shouldn't    T37 Side A Counter 187-232
"Like he wouldn't, like -- not like other [physicians, and . . . like he wouldn't] . . . he"
This reversal compliments the two above. Certainly profiting from your spiritual master's death would be a manner of getting when one shouldn't.
Bhakti Caru: I kill the prophet     T45 Side B Counter 235-265
"he says that ah, it is [quite possible that ah], that mercury"
Another direct confession from Bhakti Caru. It is a lead reversal which combined with forward speech states: "I kill the prophet (with) that mercury."
Bhakti Caru: You’ll kill him     T39 Side B Counter 114-212
"There are two different types of [medicines]. One, I'm supposed to give once in"
Another indication that the medications were tampered with. The reversal "you’ll kill him" on the word "medicines" indicates that the medications will kill him, or that Bhakti Caru will kill him by giving the medicines.
Bhakti Caru: You’re a fool; foolish lab do it good     T39 Side B Counter 114-212
["Does it taste bad, Srila Prabhupada], the medicine? Does it taste very bad?"
This reversal was quoted above and is included here as a part of Bhakti Caru’s reversals. The foolish lab referred to is a laboratory that is doing a good job mixing the poisonous medications. Foolish because they are mixing poisons for a saint.
Bhakti Caru: Mix the dough with mecidine, mecidine (medicine)     T39 Side B Counter 212-294
["But distilled medicine, the water thin], watery medicine, that is tasteless. It tastes like"
This reversal was also quoted above, indicates the mixture of something with the medications. The medications were definitely tampered with.
Bhakti Caru: Shat where we live     T45 Side B Counter 140-173
"so that’s good, that [the liver, that sh]ows that the liver is working."
A very significant reversal. "Shat" is the past tense version of "shit." One does not shit where one lives as this pollutes the house and makes it unlivable. Devotees live in their spiritual activity, spiritual practices, and association with other devotees. Bhakti Caru has thus done something most foul within the realm of spiritual activity, i.e., poisoning his guru. Consistent, yet poetic way of confessing to something extremely foolish, and which spoils his house.
Bhakti Caru: Heavy metal that milk T45 Side B Counter 140-173
[Hindi]
Besides the medications being poisoned the milk was also. Apparently anything Srila Prabhupada ingested was poisoned. The milk was poisoned with heavy metal, probably some mercury compound which would allow it to blend with the milk.
Bhakti Caru: I’ll cover that meta(l) [semi-formed]     T45 Side B Counter 140-173
[Hindi]
The word metal in this reversal is a little suspect as this is a semi-formed reversal and the last consonant (L) of metal is very light or absent. However, this reversal immediately follows the previous one (the forward speech is contiguous), and based on the clarity of that reversal this is a reasonable interpretation of the sound. Beyond that, it makes a great deal of sense following the previous reversal. The milk would have to be disguised in some way to cover the taste of the mercury compounds, and Srila Prabhupada remarked one time that his milk was very sweet. Sweetener could have been added to the milk to cover the taste of the poison, and this reversal affirms that. Further, reading the previous reversal, this one and the next in succession yields the complete thought: "heavy metal in the milk. I’ll cover that metal, and we can give the milk."
Bhakti Caru: And we can give the milk;  Tamal: Hm;  Kavi: No

Bhakti Caru: [Hindi] Tamal: Hm  Kaviraj: [Hindi]
This series of reversals by three different speakers gives an interesting picture of who was actually concerned with Srila Prabhupada’s well being: it was only the Kaviraj. This reversal follows less than 30 seconds after the two above. The Kavi realizing from the reversal that there was poison in the milk, speaks out in protest when Bhakti Caru says that he will give the milk. Tamal offers a complicit acceptance, "Hm."
Bhakti Caru: Milk steamy, but,  now feed     T45 Side B Counter 173-203
["define it, how can he explain it"]
This reversal follows shortly after the one above and indicates that he is eager to give Srila Prabhupada the poisonous milk. Prabhupada’s milk was always heated almost to boiling which accounts for the description of steamy milk.
Bhakti Caru: Making it now, my true confession T47 Side B Counter 200-235
[Hindi]
This reversal comes just after the Kaviraj, Srila Prabhupada, Bhavananda and Tamal all acknowledge in speech reversals that they see a "Starship." The Starship having arrived, Srila Prabhupada’s departure is imminent. In light of that Bhakti Caru takes this last of moments to offer his true confession in the next reversal: "I kill."

A confession by both of the main conspirators formed as a Link Reversal. In their own words they give a confession -- without a doubt they did it. Using this evidence from Reverse Speech exhuming Srila Prabhupada’s transcendental body would be unnecessary. The truth is revealed by these two conspirators over and over again.


 

 

    What more needs to be said? The two main conspirators have just confessed. The information provided by this Reverse Speech analysis confirms many of the suspicions raised about Srila Prabhupada’s last days. There were a number of anomalies, freak coincidences, and suspicious behaviors observed by people there at the time and by those who have examined the historical record. The circumstantial evidence points to foul play, but there was never enough solid evidence to make a conclusive case. All other direct evidence has long ago been disposed of except for the words of the conspirators themselves, and a few lockets of hair.

    For those who have an interest in seeing the status quo continue, these words, forward or backward won’t make any difference at all. No amount of  truths will be sufficient for those who want to avoid the truth. Honest people will welcome the truth regardless of how unpleasant, and it will ring true to them when they hear it. This presentation is for them. Others will continue to live in illusion until they come to the point where they want to factually know the truth. When the truth is desired above all else, especially above our desire to make things the way we want them to be, then we shall find it. The truth is here for those who want it and can accept it. Those who want illusion will also find it, and they will mislead themselves and others. Srila Prabhupada called this the business of  "the cheaters and the cheated." We shouldn't think that this doesn't apply to those attired in saris and dhotis.

    Next we shall hear the truth from His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Not only did he know and say he was being given poison, but as we shall hear, he accepted it as a fully surrendered devotee following the Lord’s direction. There are many reversals which indicate his unconscious knowledge of being poisoned (although many will say of Srila Prabhupada that due to his complete consciousness there was no "unconsciousness" for him). That he was conscious of the fact was demonstrated when he revealed that he was being poisoned to his close friend Balaram Mishra in a conversation in Hindi. That Hindi conversation has several English reversals which speak directly about poison as well, and poisoning is thus again confirmed by Reverse Speech.
