When a Man is Poisoned It Is Said Like That
A Reverse Speech Investigation of the Death of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada

Introduction – A Saint is Murdered

This book concerns itself with one of the greatest tragedies of the modern era — an event no less significant to the world than the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and in many ways much, much more significant. Jesus’ ministry lasted for three short years and in that short moment of time spoke of matters which have significantly influenced people for two thousand years into the future. It is quite safe to say that no other person has had such an influence for such a lasting period of time in the modern era. Because of what he had to say there were those who thought themselves better off if he were dead, yet his crucifixion only added to his influence and glory.

Jesus’ influence was due to the fact that he taught many spiritual truths—truths which are timeless in their value to all humankind. There were some things that he left unsaid however, things which the people of the time simply were not ready for. "Ye cannot bear to hear them," he admonished them. As the teacher, he knew full well what his students were capable of understanding.

In the two thousand years since that time have we come to the point of being able to understand the rest? Have we evolved at all, and are we able to at least know a little more? The answer is yes. . . for some. How are we to know? And what is the rest of the teaching?

The Bible tells us that the appearance of Jesus was foretold so the world might recognize him when he came. His way was further prepared by John the Baptist, and then at the appointed hour, he came to deliver universal religious principles for all of mankind.

Those who are free from the bindings of religious dogma can surely appreciate that the Lord is not at all limited in any way, and that He certainly has many such messengers which He regularly dispatches to this Earth to guide and influence the souls here in an effort to bring them back to Him. They are called prophets, teachers, mahatmas, ayatollahs, holy men (and women), gurus, priests, and so on. "His story" (history) is replete with tales of such great souls who walk among us for our sake. More often than not these persons are not recognized for who they are while they are with us, and it is only with their passing and the passing of time that their lessons are spread far and wide enough for their greatness to finally be understood and measured by large numbers of people. Then, they are finally recognized for who they were, and while appreciating the greatness of their message we lament for our inability to have known and served them as we should have. As we could have. If only we had then the wisdom then that we gained from their message by now.

This story is about one of God’s ambassadors and his "assassination."  The term is only mildly appropriate because we recognize that such elevated souls are not subject to the normal laws of birth and death which control all but those few. Great souls are directly under the control of the Divine will, and by His will, or theirs, they will choose when to close their pastimes and leave this mortal world. Nonetheless it will appear to us earthbound mortals that such great personalities have been killed by means of crucifixion, stoning, assassination, or by whatever the external, apparent causes seem to be.

His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, a true messenger of the Lord, whose appearance and activities, like Jesus, were foretold and fulfilled, is the person who brought the remainder of the message that Jesus couldn’t tell, and who, like Jesus was betrayed by some of the disciples who were the very closest to him. More than simply betraying him however, they actually conspired to do him in.

Just prior to the first effort to release this book, in April 1999, two important developments in this affair took place. The first was a recording posted on the internet of Tamal Krishna incredulously stating that Prabhupada had actually requested to be poisoned as an act of mercy. The other was the publishing of an extensive amount of research by Nityananda Das analyzing Prabhupada's health history and comparing his symptoms with the symptoms of arsenic poisoning.

Isa Das, one of the devotees who first brought to public awareness the whispers of poison mentioned in the Preface, was listening to tapes he personally brought back from India in 1977. On one of the tapes he discovered a recording of Satsvarupa Goswami interviewing Tamal Krishna apparently for Prabhupada's authorized biography. Therein Tamal states that there had been times toward the end when Prabhupada had actually requested that he be given some type of poison to bring about his death, but that the very close circle of devotees who knew of this refused out of love. The pertinent transcript of this tape was downloaded from VNN and can be read following this link. Tamal Krishna has said nothing about this since the allegations first began and his credibility on this issue is therefore in question. Which is the lie? The claim that he asked to be but was not poisoned, or that he didn't ask and was, or both?

Nityananda's thoroughly researched book, Someone Has Poisoned Me, presents the symptoms of chronic arsenic poisoning and matches these facts with Prabhupada's health history and symptoms. By his analysis he gives clear and convincing evidence that Prabhupada was poisoned. But was it mercy killing? The evidence presented both by Nityananda and by this author, answers this question clearly. Nityananda's analysis of Prabhupada's health history shows that the poisoning actually began in 1976 when Prabhupada had been in otherwise good health, and not just in the last few months as Tamal indicated on Isa's tape. Prabhupada was actually brought to his decimated state by poison, and possibly finished off by poison as well. And as we shall soon see and hear in the speech reversals, it would seem that everything Prabhupada ingested was poisoned, both food and medications. Therefore he would stop eating for periods of time and he intuitively stopped taking his medications and changed doctors. It's not that the doctors were not good. The problem was that their prescriptions were apparently tampered with.

The truth revealed by the speech reversals herein conclusively proves that Tamal's suggestion that Prabhupada repeated requests "give me medicine that will allow me to disappear now" was (is) a pack of lies, perhaps designed to be a cover should the poisoning be discovered at a later date. The speech reversals clearly indicate however, that up until his dying day Prabhupada wanted to live not die, and that the poisoning was unwanted and a criminal action. It is possible that if the poisoning had earlier been discovered Tamal might have said something to the effect that "well, we certainly didn't want to say anything about this because of the controversy that would ensue, but Prabhupada had pleaded that we give him something to make him leave his body so we did." The fact is that Tamal has had more than a year to reveal the truth of a mercy killing since the poison controversy arose. He has not done so. His silence, along with the truth of Nityananda's investigation, and the truth revealed in this investigation force us to conclude with absolute certainty that this was no mercy killing. Make no mistake, this was a terrible crime.

This is a tale of murder in its lowest, most despicable state, for who but the most heinous of characters could think even for a moment to kill a great soul whose only business was to relieve mankind of their material bondage by teaching that greatest of all life’s blessings—love of God? Yet it happened, and you will hear the irrefutable proof directly spoken from the mouths of those who actually did it, and confirmed by those who were there at the time. It is these direct confessions heard in Reverse Speech that have convinced me that Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was indeed brought to death's door by poisoning, and I believe that after you hear the evidence and read the story that you will agree with me also.

Although perhaps compelling this work may be considered by some to be less than an ironclad case. After all, these are mental thoughts, and it may be argued that a criminal mind is not proof of ciminal activity. I could respond by reporting from my experience as a Reverse Speech investigator, that the nature of the speech reversals found in the tapes analyzed would not be found if the followers were all innocents (like Lokanath), or if there were no criminal activity. But I may be considered a biased source in this investigation (as though simply doing doing an investigation which brings "the wrong conclusion" somehow creates a condition of untoward bias), and therefore unreliable. Now however, there is other evidence to substantiate the findings of this analysis. In Nityananda Prabhu's book, which is a thorough compilation of the evidence, he presents:

which allow for only one conclusion: Prabhupada was brought to deaths edge by the chronic administration of arsenic and probably other poisons. This reporter welcomes and appreciates his work as it adds significant detailed information that is beyond the scope of my work, but nonetheless extremely relevant and supporting. Although my analysis was finished in October of 1998 I was reluctant to release it without other evidence to substantiate my conclusions. I had wanted to release it along with Balavanta's final report which was expected early in 1999. However Balavanta's investigation is dragging on too long, now almost two years with no firm schedule for release, so I shall wait no longer, since with the release of Nityananda's book other evidence is now in hand. Literally. Nityananda has very kindly agreed to allow me to add his entire book to this CD and it can be found by following this link. All of Srila Prabhupada's followers who want to know the truth of this matter are urged to read his book thoroughly as it presents an accurate and detailed account of this entire matter, including the beginnings of the poison allegations and investigation.
