IRM'S POISON PAPER

"Smells of political diplomacy"

Dear Prabhu's, please accept my humble obeisaces.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

After reading Adridharan prabhu's newsletter I felt I had to say something.

It is clear to both myself and many other devotees that Srila Prabhupada was poisoined.  We do not agree with I.R.M's interpretation of Srila Prabhupada's statement "someone has poisoned me." I feel their whole mood on this issue smells of political diplomacy. I would be very interested to hear your thoughts prabhu's.

I feel that hearing from Srila Prabhupada is the only way forward for the movement, otherwise their will be no real reform, it will just be external. The same material propensities will still be manifest in our hearts, for example one "ex-Guru" (now an ISKCON Reformer), was staying at the PSS center in New York and was still in the same false consciousness that he was still some sort of guru. He thought that just because he gave a name to Srila Prabhupada's disciples he was or should be a focus of meditation, for them. Unless we put the pure devotee, Srila Prabhupada back in the center by hearing from him, their will be lots of room for self interested souls to fulfill their material propensities of seeking  NAME FAME AND ADORATION. Only a sincere soul will be interested in living in a Society dedicated to hearing from Srila Prabhupada.

When by good fortune one comes in contact with a pure devotee and hears from him patiently, one begins to follow the path of devotional service. Such an opportunity is offered to a person who is sincere. (N.O.I.)

The fact the I.R.G movement as they were then called, would not allow "All of us should Hear Prabhupada" to be distributed at their meeting in New York, confirmed to me my previous suspicions that some devotees inlvoled in the I.R.G are not intersted in real reform and unity, but merely in political diplomacy.

Why is there this politics? This is not good. If politics come, then the preaching will be stopped. That is the difficulty. As soon as politics come, everything is spoiled. In the Gaudiya Math the politics is still going on. My Guru Maharaja left in 1936, and now it is 1976, so after 40 years the litigation is still going on. Do not come to this.

(S.P Letter to Gurukrpa swami, 30/9/75)

Simply trying to institute the formal initiation ceremony within ISKCON, will not reform or purify the individual souls within that movement.

The official initiation has no meaning unless one who has fully surrender to guru. There is no question of initiation "dibya-jnana hrdi prokasito"

(S.B. Lec. New Vrndavana 1974)

The only way to achieve this surrender and reform of consciousness, is by hearing from the pure devotee, Srila Prabhupada.

The surrendering process is completed by the influence of association. The Lord has suggested, therefore, that by the influence of the speeches of saintly persons who have actually realized the Supreme, men are engaged in His transcendental loving service. The conditioned soul gets a taste for hearing about the Lord, and by such hearing only he is gradually elevated to the platform of respect, devotion and attachment for the Lord.

(S.B.1.7.5)

Our meditation still remains, to try to push on this great movement, and try to give as many souls as possible a facility to hear from Srila Prabhupada. However small and insignificant our attempts may be, we are hopeful that they are pleasing to Srila Prabhupada. I look forward to hearing your views.
