Any thoughts that

Dear
Yasoda-kurmar prabhu. PAMHO. AGTSP.
Thank you
for your letter with nice points.
In regards
to your concerns about new people being put off Krishna
Consciousness if they hear about Prabhupada's poisoning. I
would like to clear this up because i hear it from so many
people who are neglecting their basic duty as aspiring
followers of Prabhupada by keeping this truth hidden from the
general public.
Here are
some simple points to consider:
1. If we
desire to become preachers then we must speak truth:
Satyam,
truthfulness, means that facts should be presented as they are
for the benefit of others. Facts should not be misrepresented.
According to social conventions, it is said that one can speak
the truth only when it is palatable to others. But that is not
truthfulness. The truth should be spoken in a straight and
forward way, so that others will understand actually what the
facts are. If a man is a thief and if people are warned that
he is a thief, that is truth. Although sometimes the truth is
unpalatable, one should not refrain from speaking it.
Truthfulness demands that the facts be presented as they are
for the benefit of others. That is the definition of truth.
[Srila Prabhupada from Bhagavad-gita 10.4-5]
So if we
consider that telling people about Prabhupada's poisoning as
an unpalatable truth, still we should not refrain from
speaking it. The truth of Prabhupada's poisoning by his Judas
disciples should be spoken in a straight and forward way, so
that others will understand actually what the facts are. If
these men are killers and if people are warned that they are
killers, that is truth. We must present this truth for the
benefit of others. That benefit is more clearly described in
point 2 as follows:
2.
It is our duty to help the innocent
public distinguish between the REAL ISKCON (religious system)
and the APA-ISKCON (Not religious system) THIS IS KNOWLEDGE.
If we don't distribute knowledge as defined by Prabhupada then
how can we preach?
Bruta
dharmasya nas tattvam yac ca adharmasya laksanam: "And how you
distinguish from adharma, nonreligious thing?" Knowledge means
you should know both things, not one side. You must know what
is religious system and what is not religious system. Simply
one side is not full knowledge. Upayam ca cintayet prajna,
apayam ca cintayet. Just like if you want to do some business,
you have calculated that "I shall invest so much money, and I
shall get so much profit. So let us do this business. It
is very nice." But sastra says, "No, you have
simply calculated the profit, and you also calculate
no profit, not one-sided." Similarly, to know dharma, you must
know adharma also, the opposite side.
[Srila
Prabhupada Lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam 6.1.37, San Francisco,
July 19, 1975]
Sulocana
Prabhu has presented the above Prabhupada quote as follows "It
must be revealed to the world exactly who Srila Prabhupada is
and how he has nothing whatsoever to do with the corruption
going on amongst ISKCON's leaders today." We have to work to
make it happen, and play an instrumental role to help clear
the publics doubts about the Hare Krishna Movement and thus
defend Srila Prabhupada's honor.
The public
don't actually find it difficult to accept that Prabhupada was
poisoned, they hold the same view that Prabhupada describes
below, that is my experience:
You try to trace out the history of the world,
you'll find always persons who are for Krsna or God, they
have been persecuted. Lord Jesus Christ was
crucified, Haridasa Thakura was caned in twenty-two market
places, Prahlada Maharaja was tortured by his father.
So there may be such things.
Of course, Krsna will protect us. So don't be afraid.
Don't be afraid if somebody
tortures us, somebody teases us. We must go on with
Krsna consciousness without any hesitation, and Krsna will
give us protect.
[Srila
Prabhupada from Srimad-Bhagavatam Lecture 7.9.8 Seattle,
October 21, 1968]
Only ex cult
members who have drunk the poison of mayavadi philosophy
from these killers find it hard to accept that Prabhupada
was poisoned. The hearts of the innocent public are not so
deeply polluted.
3. Peoples
understanding or experience of the cult conflicts with their
natural respect for the Lords representative Srila
Prabhupada. So when they hear that Prabhupada was poisoned
and his movement usurped then everything falls nicely into
place for them. Their repulsive feelings are for irreligion
and not religion personified Srila Prabhupada. All their bad
experiences with the Krishna's were nothing to do with
Prabhupada and his books, their bad experiences were coming
from association with envious people dressed as devotees, or
cult zombies!
4. The general
public will also develop deeper appreciation for Prabhupada
because they will recognise his saintly qualities of
tolerance and mercy. Their love for Srila Prabhupada will
increase when they realize the great compassionate sacrifice
he made to give us all his spiritual books. Thus they will
start to read his books.
5. Their
inquisitiveness about Prabhupada's message will be awakened
thus: "What was Prabhupada preaching that was so threatening
to people that they tried to kill him"
Thus
they will start to read his books.
Conclusion: Any
thoughts that the preaching of TRUTH will put people
off TRUTH is simply foolishness spoken by those who have
being poisoned in a cult society based on UNTRUTH. Strong
preaching of this TRUTH will drive away all UNTRUTHS that
are checking the publics surrender to Srila Prabhupada's
real mercy mission.

PAMHO/AGTSP/
Prabhu,
Hare Krishna.
Thanks
for the materials sent. I understand the falldowns should be
viewed properly and not from a spectator's view.
You
asked about myself. I am just a tiny jiva who became
frustrated with Iskcon politics and deviations after seeing
and hearing so many stories about falldowns of gurus,
stealing, child abuse, business on religion etc. Now I don't
associate with Iskcon or any such sect, and I am not going
to join any sect anymore. But I go on reading Prabhupada's
books and Vaisnava acharyas' also.
I have
not read the book Guru Business sent by you yet, it's quite
big. It is interesting for me from historical point of view.
Quite instructing in regards to any cult without a pure
spiritual leadership.
I have
known about the "Ritvik" philosophy for few years. I found
your website from the letter which I got by your massive
info distribution. Your website is done well, very
attractive and accurate. But the information that you give
in the front page - about poisoning of Prabhupada - is very
shocking for the new people, I think. Perhaps they will be
afraid to read further. Maybe it could be done in another
way, as a separate page.
The
theory of killing Prabhupada is quite shocking and
unbelievable at first, but of course there are many reasons
to think like this, although I am not sure if it was true or
not. I am getting to know more about this. The facts which
took place after Prabhupada's entering aprakat-lila give
some more assurance that his poisoning really took place.
And the terrible disglorious death of Tamal is also quite
indicative. It looked like a punishment for his crime.
Best
regards.
